The office will now be centrally located at 925 Truman Avenue, #2 in Old Town Key West. Clients are welcome to come visit them in the new place during office hours, which are 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday and by appointment on Saturday.

Julie Shreck, the founder of Simply You Weddings, stated “We are beyond ecstatic about the move we have made to our new office. This location is a little more central than the last, which means we’re easier to get to. The prime season for Key West weddings is coming up in just a few short months, and we sincerely believe that this move will also allow us to better serve the clients who walk through our door. We’ll be able to provide them with the top-notch experience that Simply You Weddings has become known for, and nothing makes us more excited than that.”

The Basics of Surviving in the Wilderness

Wilderness survival was at one point in time a part of everyday life. Even if you feel protected and safe in your cocoon of modern living it is still a good plan to have some of the survival skills that could keep you alive in a bad situation. Outdoor enthusiasts, sportsmen and backpackers have these skills because it is what they enjoy doing but for everyone else it should be a skill worth learning.

What are survival skills you ask? Survival skills involves the know-how and techniques that will help you survive in hazardous conditions or dangerous locations. These skills will help you should you be involved in extreme storms or hurricanes, or if you find yourself stuck in the desert, mountains, or jungle. You will want to at least know how to build a shelter, build a fire, pack a survival kit, and how to get clean drinking water. These are universal skills that could help you no matter what the situation or circumstance.These universal skills will be able to help you survive in any situation you find yourself in

Let us take a closer look at what you should do if you find yourself stuck or lost in an extreme or dangerous environment. The order of focus for survival skills relate to the basic human needs and the circumstance you find yourself in. To protect yourself from the harsh conditions you will want to build a shelter as your first task. Shelter is a priority because it will get you out of the harsh conditions should it be intense sun, rain, or snow; you shelter could be a lean-to or could be constructed from the poncho that you have in your survival kit.

Getting clean drinking water is the next most important element to surviving a hazardous situation. You can collect water in a number of ways. In the desert you can use condensation traps while in the jungle you could find water in the vines of trees or you could find a stream or river. You water should be brought to a boil before you drink it.

The next survival skill we will look at is building a fire, you will not be able to boil your water unless you first build fire. Fire is necessary for protection and warmth, it can keep animals and insects away as well as dry your cloths and keep you warm at night. While a fire can make surviving easier, in most situations a shelter is more important.

Next we will look at the survival kit, depending on the situation surrounding your survival you may not have a survival kit. I recommend a survival book and a first aid kit in any survival bag, these could save your life should anything bad ever happen to you. You need to tend to your injuries in the wild before they get worse.
